Servo

Servo is an experimental browser engine originally developed by Mozilla as part of Mozilla Research, which started the project in 2012.

The goal with Servo was to utilize the concurrency and memory safety guarantees offered by the Rust programming language.

After Mozilla laid off a lot of it’s staff in August 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic, Servo became a Linux Foundation project on 17 November 2020.
